Is this the best K Beauty Sunscreen for sensitive skin?
A SPF that doesn’t clog pores, cause irritation, has no white cast and applies like a dream? Does such an spf exist?
If all the rave reviews of Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotic are true, it seems it does.
Quickly becoming a cult favourite, it seems everybody has been raving about this spf this summer. And I can see why, it’s the best sunscreen for sensitive skin I’ve tried. It’s a standard chemical sunscreen in a nice way just with a load of soothing ingredients making this super comfortable on the skin even if you have a damaged skin barrier. It’s been compared to the Round Lab – Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream but Beauty of Joseon seems to be getting even more love.
Beauty of Joseon
Is a skincare brand made with Hanbang (Traditional herbal medicine) ingredients handed down from the Joseon Dynasty and orginally inspired by a 19th century encyclopedia describing the skin care secrets of upper class Korean women. Ingredients include; Rice Bran Water, Ginsengroot water, Green Plum Water, Propolis, Green Tea Leaf Water, and Prunus Mume Flower Water.
First lets breakdown what makes it soo good.
Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen ingredients
Rice extract 30% + Grain fermented extracts
The key skincare ingredient in here is rice which is a pretty popular ingredient in Koreans skincare. It has 30 % rice extract and a 1000 ppm rice germ extract, as well as three probiotic rice ferments. Rice great for hydration and for sensitive skin as it’s rich in amino acids and minerals. While the probiotic ferments help to strengthen your skin.
But it’s not just rice. We have a whole lot of skin loving ingredients like niacinamide and green tea (another favourite K Beauty ingredient) plus coconut fruit extracts for extra hydration, ginseng root extract, which is great antioxidant.
UV Filters
Beauty Of Joseon Sunscreen is not a mineral sunscreen. It is a chemical sunscreen with new advanced UV filters – Uvinul A Plus, Uvinul T 150, Tinosorb M, and Uvasorb HEB. Which are less sensitizing and more photo stable.

I know this quite a statement but I think this my favourite K beauty sunscreen. It may even make it as Beauty Hero.. The Beauty of Joseon sunscreen is suitable for a range of skin types and skin concerns including dry, sensitive, combination and oily. Only if you have really oily do I think this spf would be too oily for you.
